Tuesday’s Powerball jackpot is at an estimated R35-million, and some of our favourite celebrities spoke to ZAlebs about what they would do if they won.
Okay, the chances of winning the lottery are like one in a billion, but we can’t help but dream about what we would do with all that money.
If we won the jackpot, we would rent out Bistro Sixteen82 and organise a sit down for Bonang Matheba and Pearl Thusi, so the two can hash out their differences – and maybe have an epic food fight!
But we are really more interested in what Mzansi’s celebs would do if they won the jackpot.
Unlike Oprah Winfrey, who during her beauty pageant days (before she became famous) said she would be a spending fool if she won a million dollars, our celebs are thinking more long term.
TV personality Khanya Mkangisa told ZAlebs if she won Tuesday’s massive Powerball, she would invest in property.
“I would totally pay-off my house, and buy another house, get my mom one. But I would never stop working; I would just buy properties for days!” she said.
Actress Nonhle Thema’s entrepreneurial mind would turn R35-million into even more money!
“I would buy buildings and rent them out. I would create parking lots, because there is no parking, and so many cars. I would charge like R20 to park for the day. Imagine if I had 10,000 cars! I would do things that I love, and I definitely would be a little less stressed, and I’d be happy," she said.
Rhythm City actress Samkelo would use the money to give back to the youth.
*I would build a music studio in an underprivileged place like Alexandra Township where young kids can harness their talent, and get to make some music,” she said.
