When one has a dream, surely they will go to great lengths to ensure that it comes fruition, and not allow any negative criticism to stand in the way.
Attesting to this is former Imbewu actor, Xolani Mfeka, who portrayed the character of Nganono Bhengu. Viewers have been coming at him for his "poor" acting skills and unimpressive command of the isiZulu language, which allegedly led to his dismissal on the show.
The actor spoke to Ilanga Newspaper this past weekend, and stated that he is not about to stop acting despite stinging criticism about his supposed bad acting skills.
He was quoted as saying: "Personally, I believe that I did all that I could to fulfill the role of Nganono. I don't think I have failed anywhere."
He added that there was nothing else he could do even though he was deeply hurt by people's destructive criticism about his acting abilities. "I was simply adhering to the producer's instructions," the actor told the publication.
Xolani has graced our screens previously, including a stint on Gauteng Maboneng and the iconic SABC1 soapie Generations. However, Imbewu remains his biggest acting gig to date. It was also reported that the young actor is in talks with the SABC.
There truly is no stopping a man with a dream now, is there? As much as there are some that don't appreciate his acting, there is surely a fraction that still enjoys his artistry.
