Not only is Kabelo Mabalane pushing the Shout Campaign with Danny K in the hopes of building a new library for disadvantaged communities but he has now a new television project alongside maize meal brand IWISA.
Kabelo is on a mission to improve the lives of 6 extraordinary individuals who have successfully launched empowerment projects in townships with minimal assistance.
On the show, these entrepreneurs are referred to as The Legends, and through the shows intervention, the entrepreneurs are represented with the opportunity to be mentored by celebrity mentor, Kabelo Mabalane, and ultimately receive valuable skills, knowledge, and resources.
"IWISA No1 Legends is about reminding South Africans that legends are not only found on the soccer field or large stages, but are also in eKasi, in our homes and within. It therefore, gives us great joy to have the ability to identify these communities along with their legends in order to accelerate while celebrating what already has been achieved.” says Peane Maponyane, Senior Brand Manager for IWISA No1.
Kabelo also shared why he decided to join the project.
"I chose to be part of the IWISA No1 legends because I am an avid advocate for active citizenship and I am of the firm conviction that to move our country forward, the citizens need to play their part as well. The words of former US President J.F Kennedy capture this sentiment perfectly: “Ask not what your country can do for you,but ask what you can do for your country.” - Said Kabelo.
Props to Kabelo and the IWISA team for their aim to constantly uplift those who are trying their utmost best to improve their communities.
The IWISA No1 Legends TV Show is set to air on the 10th of November on SABC 1 at 18:20pm
