South African legend Lebo Mathosa is being commemorated through a biopic created by BET Africa.
The TV channel announced via social media that they will be hosting auditions on the 31st of March at The Sky rink Studios in JHB CBD.
The drama series is titled The Lebo Mathosa Story and “will be based on the singer’s incredible life story while taking viewers on a journey to the 90s for a taste of the Kwaito revolution,” shared BET.
If you believe that you have the moves and the voice to get the leading role of the iconic Lebo then BET will see you at the door by 8 am on Sunday morning.
The Kwaito legend started her career at the tender age of 14 in the famous 90’s group Boom Shaka alongside Thembi Seete, Theo Nhlengethwa and Junior Sokhela. The group changed South African music at the time igniting a voice for the youth with their first single “It’s about time”
Mathosa moved on to have a successful solo career towards the end of the 90’s and her life was cut short in 2006 when a driver when lost control of the car which lead to her unexpected death.
