The old cliche is true - you have to love yourself before someone else will love you
Mbuli looks gorgeous in her Magician Pichulik earings. Trust us. You will too.
Valentine's Day is rapidly approaching and for a lot of people that means a flurry of date night planning, weekends away, flowers and more. But even if you are attached and plotting and planning or if you are on team single, you have to remember to love yourself first.
So on that theme, we have compiled a bunch of our favorite quotes and pieces of inspiration & wisdom that will help you through this week and any week.
But before we get to that, let's talk jewelry. Not any jewelry, but the jewelry that all our favorite Zalebs like Bonnie (above) are wearing. Our friend Kat Pichulik the designer of PICHULIK champions bold jewelry for brave women. This Valentine's Day she is celebrating self-love, and gifting a special offer just for our readers.
PICHZALEBS2015 is what will get you 15% off online and if you are in the Joburg area, 15% off at her store at 44 Stanley and that gets you 15% more love for your money - or maybe you use that code as a touch of a hint to your man - and he can get you 15% more bling for Valentine's Day.
I had the chance to talk to Kat end of last week about her company and her work that is all about celebrating yourself and being a strong independent woman in our modern world.
So relax everyone - sure you'll read about Black Coffee's fantastic gift to Enhle but read on, take care of yourself and tell us which of Pichulik's designs you think would look especially lovely on you.
Without further ado here are our favourite quotes of inspiration on how to practice self-love.
"People who have more self-love tend to know what they think, feel & want. They are mindful of who they are and act on this knowledge."
"You will accept and love yourself more in whatever is happening in your life, when you live with purpose and design."
"You'll love yourself more when you set limits or say no to work, love, or activities that deplete you physically, emotionally & spiritually."
"Bring the right people into your life, get rid of people who take pleasure in your pain and loss, you will love yourself more."
"You have to accept your humanness (the fact that you are not perfect) before you can truly love yourself. Practice being less hard on yourself when you make a mistake. There are no failures if you have learned and grown from your mistakes; there are only lessons."
So who will you be giving all of your love and devotion to this Valentine's Day?
That's correct, yourself.
