Since playing the role of Tshidi on Etv's Rhythm City, Nokthula has been on a quest to make a name for herself in the industry. From starring in films such as Mary and Martha alongside Hillary Swank, to bagging a small role in The Long Walk to Freedom, Nokthula's quest for greatness only grew bigger.
Many speculations were made as to why she left Rhythm City after playing Tshidi for close to a decade. Well amongst other reasons, she left because she wanted to play more challenging roles. Roles that would put her acting skills to the test and roles that were out of her comfort zone. Another big reason that she left the show was because she fell pregnant.

“I felt the pain of rejection as a teenager. I was at a stage of my life when I started asking myself who I looked like and where my father was. At times I would get angry that my mother left us, she said.
All that made it difficult to connect with her daughter because she wasn't sure what she needed to do. But all that changed when her baby girl arrived. Although she has always kept in touch with her mom, their relationship wasn’t good but she had to learn to forgive her and establish a relationship with her. Sadly her mother passed away and now she is a mother with a different perspective about how to raise a child.
