Her activism is something that cannot be ignored and has led her to receive her second award this year. The actress and presenter announced on her social media how receiving The Rising Star award at the Face of Africa’s 10th annual Wash Gala felt like a dream.
The Face of Africa has worked hand in hand with WASH to help raise funds for water related programs and services in Liberia and they recently expanded into Nigeria.
Nomzamo has always spoken out about the importance of her activism. During an interview with Cosmopolitan the powerhouse shared that she will continue to advocate for people:
“I will continue to advocate for refugees, I will continue to advocate for mental illness, I will continue to speak on it, and if you say that I’m not an activist then that is ok. I was never born for titles, I was never born for labels. I just want to be a decent human being.”
The star was also presented with a Legislative Resolution by the State of NY recognizing her work by Senator Kevin S. Parker.
The other honorees include:
Ghanaian business woman Bozoma Saint John -Endeavour Voice of Change Award
