"I am drinking again. I don't know what to do. I don't know if I should kill myself," the radio DJ told Sowetan newspaper in a recent interview.
According to the publication, Chilli M has had a long and highly publicized battle with alcoholism.
He even shared news of this with listeners of his Ukhozi FM radio show after doctors had reportedly told him that he would be dead in a few months if he continued drinking.
He attributes his most recent relapse to the challenges he has faced this year - namely the death of his daughter, who was killed in a car accident late last year - and the fraud charges he is currently facing.
He was later fired from the station for allegedly accepting what Sunday World calls "certain enticements" in exchange for play-listing music.
"This year has been bad to me, things just got from bad to worse," he said.
This relapse comes after he had sobered up and become an ambassador for the Industry Association for Responsible Alcohol Use (ARA). It was subsequently revealed that his alcohol abuse had caused significant damage to his liver and that he would not live long if he continued.
"It is such a sad case. My liver does not function normally anymore," he once said to Sunday World in a different interview.
Let’s hope he gets the help he needs before it’s too late. 2016 has already taken too many people into the afterlife.
