She might be despised on Isibaya for her role as the vindictive Iris, but in real life, Mampho Brescia is using her talent and popularity to steer young girls and women in the right direction.

For this year’s youth month, Mampho has been asked to facilitate workshops and discussions at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy.

Mampho commented: "Reaching out to girls and young women is a passion of mine. I am thankful for the opportunity to assist in bringing inspiration and helping them find renewed vision and strength to reach their goals. Young girls continue to be vulnerable members of our society, despite their enormous potential in transforming our society for the better."

The Soweto-born actress will be focusing on bringing inspiration forward and teaching the learners not to be deterred by any challenges they may face in living out their potential. This celebration will take place on Saturday, 13 June at the Academy and will include performances and workshops for the learners.

2015 has been great year for Mampho, who also already been to the Cannes Film Festival for the film Ayanda and the Mechanic which was co-produced by fellow actress and B.F.F. Terry Pheto.
