In case you didn't know, Penny Lebyane is not exactly Phat Joe's biggest fan. When he was suspended for his homophobic comments on Radio 2000, the TV and radio veteran felt as if he got what was coming to him. This week when Phat Joe and Anele squared off after the "shock jock" suggested that she was unfit to judge Miss South Africa, the country was forced to question once again "Why does Phat Joe keep getting in this kind of trouble?"
Phat Joe has since apologised, and Anele has accepted the apology, but it seems as if it's just a matter of time until the DJ upsets listeners and followers with another one of his divisive opinions.
One person who took a moment to dissect Phat Joe's motives is Penny Lebyane, who didn't mince her words when she said:
"Its his weakness he builds himself via women has always picked on strong girls for relevance."
This was in direct response to Anele questioning why he always comes after her. Penny wasn't done however:
Penny Lebyane has described Phat Joe as a "repeat offender" and you can be sure that this won't be the last time he is forced to say "sorry". The radio veteran apparently called Anele after their shows to explain his comments. Anele recounted:
"Just took a call from Phat Joe. He apologized. I accept his apology. Naturally he thought he was joking and it didn’t land well on me. I appreciate the fact that he did not want to dictate how I reacted in my defense to what he believed was said in jest. We live. We err. We heal."
Do you think Phat Joe is a menace or are we, as his fans claim, all too sensitive?
