The award-winning rapper was immediately placed under police custody until he was able to attend his court hearing.
A week later, Pitch Black appeared at the Johannesburg Magistrate court in a jovial mood. The court hearing was attended by his close family, friends as well as the media.
His first hearing made headlines as people who were in attendance found his behaviour quite alarming, as he was seen posing for pictures and even smiling in court. His behaviour was even more alarming, considering that his wife had just been buried that weekend.
According to Sowetan Live, the rapper's bail application has been delayed due to the defence attorney's failure to provide a convincing argument as to why the rapper deserved to receive bail.
Pitch Black has been charged with premeditated murder and defeating the ends of justice. His next court appearance is Friday, 25 January.
