As you're well aware, every 1st of April, the biggest stations in South African radio renew their annual contracts with local talent and the result is that we usually see presenters moving stations on this precarious day.
Some moves are simply shocking. For instance this year alone, Masechaba Ndlovu has left Metro FM while Moshe Ndiki has joined the station. In fact, we even thought Thando Thabethe was ditching 5FM for Metro at one stage but this turned out to be a brilliant April Fool's Prank.
One move that can definitely be confirmed is Prince Kaybee who will be moving to the biggest radio station in the country on a one-year residency. The DJ, who is one of South Africa's biggest musicians right now, will be sharing weekly mixes for his loyal listeners on the platform.
An excited Kaybee took to social media to say:
“As you guys heard this morning on Ukhozi FM I announced my 1 year residency at the biggest radio station in the country. #NewChapter in my life, wanted this for the longest time. Honoredto be part of the family at Ukhozi FM. Lets meet every Friday morning on radio”
2019 looks to be a strong year for Prince Kaybee who is keen to put the drama behind him. Recently he was dragged after revealing that he prioritises his work over his family.
With this new gig, let's just say we don't think he's going to have any more family time than he already has.
