Rapper Rouge shoots her shot at a collab with US rapper Missy Elliot using social media.
In the era of "shooting your shot", "sliding into DM's" and "swiping left on Tinder"-there's no way you can deny social media's impact on our daily lives. And because of it, a lot of good romances, motivational hashtags and great musical collaborations have been possible.
Do you remember when Maphorisa had to make a song after getting 50 000 retweets? This song led to Mzansi getting the banger, Phoyisa, and better still, through the power of social media they even got #FillUp legend Cassper Nyovest to collab on it.
Well Rouge clearly understands and acknowledges the power of social media and has decided to use it to make a bold move in her career.
She recently used her Twitter account to reach out to US rap queen and recent MTV Icon Award recipient, Missy Elliott for a collaboration. Yaaas girl!
Rouge wrote on the platform "Collab big or go home" on this friend request.
Simply put, Rouge asked Missy how many retweets for a verse, and added a smiling emoji to seal the deal.
We're so here for this move from the rap star that we're crossing fingers and hoping that it's just a matter of time before Missy replies with a reasonable RT number so that the Rouge's fans can get to retweeting. In fact, the loyal fans have been retweeting this tweet since Rouge dropped the question.
Last year, the rapper dubbed herself the best female rapper in the game and if (excuse me, when) this Missy verse comes through, she might be get to prove herself right.
