Reasons to watch Miss SA this weekend

Reasons to watch Miss SA this weekend

Mar 27, 2015, 07:27 AM

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it’s that time again; we are less than 48 hours away from watching our next Miss SA be crowned. It’s always interesting to watch the show and what the contestants wear and say. And you know what? Even if your reason for watching is just to poke fun at the whole thing, you are always guaranteed entertainment.

Here are some of the reasons why I can't wait for this year's Miss South Africa:

The inspiration

You might be a fellow model and would love to enter this pageant one day. Be inspired with each of the finalists’ stories, their journeys and why they feel they can make a difference as the new Miss SA this year. You could learn something from watching the way these women carry and present themselves, and see what really goes into being part of pageant of this size.

It’s always interesting to see what these finalists have to go to for an event like this. All the interviews and work that they have to put into being a part of this pageant finally pays off, and you know what, it isn't even just about walking up and down the catwalk!

The eye candy

This is probably more of a reason to tune in for the men. If your lady is forcing you to watch the Miss SA pageant this coming weekend, at least you don’t have to worry too much about being bored. The 12 finalists are gorgeous women, who are both talented and smart. Let’s hope this all comes across on Sunday too!

You don’t want to be the only one...

...Who doesn't know the name of the new Miss South Africa. Come Monday morning, many people will be discussing the show and the finalist around the coffee machine. You may think that no one else will be watching, but you’ll be surprised. Who should have won, who wore the worst dress…you know the drill. You don’t want to be left with nothing to say on Monday so make sure you watch!

The hosts and entertainment

This year's Miss South Africa by Proverb, performers at the glittering show include Gangs of Ballet, Beatenberg and Sterling EQ with appearances by current Miss World, Rolene Strauss, former Miss World, Anneline Kriel, a host of former Miss SA ladies and Sophie Ndaba who was unveiled as the new judge.

The Miss SA Pageant will be broadcast live in simulcast on M-Net and Mzansi Magic on Sunday 29 March at 17:30.
