If you're confused about the whole Rick Ross Block Party drama than has unfolded over the last 24 hours...you're not alone!

The US rapper's decision to can two shows - both the Durban and East London leg of his SA tour -  AND make a U-turn during his scheduled trip, has had fans scratching their heads in confusion and disbelief!

News broke over the weekend that the Running The Streets rapper would not be performing in Durban over a 'breach of contract' by concert organisers NuWave Entertainment.

Then just a few hours later, the Rick Ross Block Party organisers announce that the East London tour had been cancelled too!

Rick jetted into Durban on Saturday, 21 December, hours before he was due perform at King's Park Outer Fields. According to a statement by organisers, “a lack of funds” was the reason for Durban's show axing.

Hours later, event organisers, NuWave Entertainment, announced the EL concert would be cancelled shortly before it's kick-off on Sunday, 22 December.

Part of the statement read: "Following the Durban show cancellation yesterday [Saturday], it is with great disappointment and regret that the East London leg of the tour will not have Rick Ross performing.

"The East London organisers are deeply disappointment by this and have done their utmost best to secure the first international festivals in the province. All attempts to salvage the contract with the Ross Team proved fruitless.”

The organisers then announced that the concert would go ahead - WITHOUT Rick Ross - and that it would be a free event to the public. They also revealed that a full refund for both shows would be made to fans who bought tickets.

It's unclear if Rick Ross's third concert in Mafikeng - set to take place on Tuesday 24 December - will also go ahead despite reports claiming the rapper is jetting out of SA on Monday.

Here comes the plot twist!

Rick Ross, himself, took to social media to address the whole drama and threw concert promoter Kabelo Ncholo under the bus!

In an Instagram story, Rick claimed the "business weren't right" for his Durban gig cancellation. He then instructed the people of Mafikeng to "stone" the SA promoter.

“Mahikeng y'all should stone him, he just …I don’t know what he doing. Everybody who bought tickets we gonna have a good time and we go keep y’all posted.”

There's more! Rick claimed that Kabelo was a "fake promoter" and put all his deets on the gram for all to see!

But it seems SA promoter Kabelo has a different version of events.

In his own social media post, Kabelo claims he went above and beyond the call of duty for Rick Ross - even as far as personally meeting him at the airport.

He also claims Rick was "unrealistic" and expected him to cough up $300 000 in an hour "or else the world would hear about me".

Apart from being shooketh, EL fans, like those in Durbs, were sorely disappointed.

Rick was also dragged over the coals for his pronunciation of Mafikeng.

Was this a dodgy deal or did Rick Ross take South Africans for fools?

Either way, it just wasn't meant to be!
