The news was announced by British High Commissioner Nigel Casey at an event held at the British Commissioner's residence in Pretoria on Wednesday to celebrate the 93rd birthday of Queen Elizabeth.
"They (Harry and Meghan) are going to be coming back to visit us in SA this autumn (or Spring in SA)," Casey told media at the event.
Although details about the trip have not yet been released, Nigel Casey said it would be "a much shorter visit" of only days, not the rumored month long stay. Casey predicted that the visit would also boost the SA economy and inspire a fashionista frenzy to rival the opening of parliament.
Casey may be overselling the expectations of the royals visit but what we can definitely expect is some major buzz when they arrive.
The visit will form part of a larger SADC tour by the couple, which will see them visit several neighbouring countries as well. And as they should, after all the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's romance has been said to have started right here in the motherland.
The pair had been spotted several times in Botswana while they were still dating and both reminisce fondly about how Botswana especially is a very special place for their relationship.
Earlier this year it was reported that Harry, Meghan and their newborn baby Archie, would be settling abroad to do charity work, with their main base in Africa.
We can't wait for this photogenic family to hit our soils and see what they have to offer in Africa with their philanthropic work.
Perhaps, help bring back the land? You never know.
