Have you ever noticed how most celebrity glam squads are male-dominated? Just think about it... Women like Bonang Matheba, Thando Thabethe and Dineo Moeketsi are surrounded by men whenever they're getting glammed up.
As such, a lot of these men have landed on our radar because they are so damn good at what they do. Whether they've been in the industry for decades or they just started out. These men are damn good at what they do. The first is celebrity hair stylist, Saadique Ryklief...
He has worked with the likes of Lalla Hirayama, Lira and your fave; "your ghel B*." In addition to doing hair for events and major shoots, Ryklief also does work for big brands like De Beers, Anglo Gold Jewellery and Nokia back when they sponsored the Face of Africa model search.
There is also Muzi Cebolenkosi Zuma popularly known as "Muzi Z."
Muzi recently headed-up the make-up part of Orapeleng Modulte's widely discussed "Rose Garden Experience" lookbook.starring Nandi Madida and Bonang Matheba.
It seems that working with Bonang is the key to unlocking publicity for your skills as the following stylists have gained fame after working with B*
Pat Missile is the brains behind B's legendary hand-made lace wigs before lace wigs became as popular as they are now. He has since worked with the likes of Boity Thulo and eTV's Scandal!'s Kgomotso Christopher.
Although Nthato Mashishi has BEEN in the game, it is his work with B* that introduced him to a clientelle beyond the media industry as he was previously popular among entertainment industry insiders.
Another make-up artists who was put on by B* was, Vuyo Varoy, who was appointed to work with her shortly after the revelation of her Revlon brand ambassadorship.
Following the Revlon gig, he now works with major international brands such as Clinique...
Another one of the artists on our radar is Lebohang Motsumi. Having a wig made by this stylist is an actual life goals.
We were first introduced to him this time last year when Dineo Moeketsi tagged him in an Instagram post and we've been obsessed with his work ever since.
Lebo slays a lace frontal like no other guys and dolls. His work is unbelievable.
His lace wigs look so real that you can braid them into cornrows!
Lastly, we have Jawad Maphoto who is another award-winning legend in the game. You may have seen him in the recent Head & Shoulders ad and that is because the stylist has been nominated as their ambassador.
Maphoto now works with a lot of Instagram faves including Miss SA, Demi Leigh Nel Peters and Kefilwe "Kefiboo" Mabote.
The stylist, who started out as a cleaner, now has 12 years experience in the industry with a very successful business, multiple awards and brand ambassadorships under his belt.
