The streets were abuzz with chatter after socialite and Instagram influencer, Sarah Langa, took to the gram to show off snaps of herself and her new boo (Jehan Mackay) cuddled up in a jet shortly after she broke up with rapper, K.O.
It wasn’t long before Langa’s Instagram was littered with love and luxury as Mackay spoiled her senseless.
The pair got married in a number of ceremonies late last year before spending months on what we can easily call the greatest honeymoon we’ve ever seen and now we know how they could afford all of that.
According to a report published by The Daily Maverick, Mackay was appointed as an EOH executive shortly after the IT firm purchased a company owned by him and his father, Danny.
EOH is one of South Africa’s biggest IT service management companies and was founded back in 1998.
In addition to earning R300-million in social development IT contracts, Daily Maverick reports that EOH clocked R12.7-billion in revenue last year and has positioned itself “to become a central player in a future social grants distribution system.”
Upon appointment, Mackay junior’s job was reported to get EOH more government contracts, one of which was an R11-million contract with SASSA.
The Mackay family has since acquired a number of luxury properties in plush suburbs.
“The most expensive of their properties is known as “The Pentagon”. The designer mansion has unbeatable views of Cape Town’s Atlantic Ocean and the Twelve Apostles, and the Mackays have claimed that they can rent it out over the festive season for R150,000 a day,” reports the Daily Maverick.
In fact, high ranking officials and a number of businessmen linked to the SASSA scandal (among others) were present at the traditional wedding Mackay and Langa held back in June 2016 as well as the additional ceremonies they held in December 2016.
We’re not saying they can’t be friends but when multi-million rand government contracts are at stake, business and pleasure are best left separate.
