Actress, Simz Ngema, has been candid about her process of healing after the loss of her partner Dumi Masilela ever since he was killed late last year and while she's still in grief, she is adamant that she doesn't care about people's opinions.
In a recent interview on Afternoon Express Simz opened up about her process of healing in front of the whole country, saying that she had stripped naked emotionally for everyone to see.
"I have lived this journey with everybody watching. I felt like I was literally stripped naked, emotionally, in front of the whole country. For me, I just had to live my truth and that is how I am healing," she said.
Simz went on to say that she had adopted her own way of grieving and did not care about peoples opinions: "It's basically understanding that grief is my journey, I don't care who says what, if I feel like I need to run around naked and that's gonna make me feel better then that's what I'm gonna do I don't care who's gonna judge me, I'm gonna do what I'm comfortable with and that's what matters..."
Playing Dudu on Broken Vows has also played a part in Simz' healing process as it gave her hope.
"Acting saved my life. I was at a point where I felt like, 'what do I live for?' It reminded me of what I am passionate about. It reminded me that the one thing I am passionate about gave me a reason to live... my passion saved my life."
