Snaps: Highlighting Rouge's hair evolution

When looking for style inspiration we often look at our ZAlebs and try and do similar styles that they portray on stage. Today, if you go to a salon you’ll often find fans coming in and asking for the "Sho Majdozi" hairstyle or the "Nomuzi" wave because these brands have been able to make these styles as their own.

Rouge has had many tweeps comment on her image on various occasions online. Although she’s been adamant that she has more interest in her music and that that should be the main focus, she has since kept the haters mum as she slays daily on the ‘gram.

When we first got to know rapper Rouge as a brand, during her rise to fame we got accustomed to affiliate her brand to a red curly haired girl. But she has since evolved, tried out new hairstyles and made major transformations which have become instant favourites.

Red hot Rouge
Rouge's iconic look has been her wild red long curls, with a fresh cut on both sides of her head.

Cruella de Vil inspired Rouge
After growing back her hair on the sides, Rouge stepped into another phase of plaiting, what we'd like to call a Cruella de Vill inspired hair look, with one side having red curls, and the other just black.

All black Natural hair inspired Rouge
Towards the end of the year, Rouge tried out an entirely new look that we had not seen on her before – black long afro inspired look with studs.

Serving Inches!
We have never seen Rouge in a wig, so this moment here was definitely a much anticipated one for the "weave gang". Rouge started wearing a straightened wig nearly 20inches long.

The wet hair trend is one that will never grow old – we've seen this look on the runway season after season.

Straight and simple
Rouge's first post of 2019 shows her slaying in black straight hair. We wonder if this will be her look for the rest of the year.
