This year will mark the 10th year anniversary of the midfielder, Gift Leremi passed away on the 3rd of September 2007.
Gift passed on after losing control of his car in Brackensdowns, next to Alberton. The soccer star was returning from a trip to Africa for the CAF Confederations Cup when the accident happened.
Gift was survived by his fiance' Mamello and his daughter, Kelebogile. He passed on at the age of 22.
Gift was loved by many celebrities as well and featured in one of Brown Dash's music videos back then.
Ajax Cape Town defender and midfielder Cecil passed on when his VW Polo GTI collided with another car in Khayelitsha in the early hours of Sunday morning. Cecil was 27-years-old. Cecil passed on in October 2015.
The Free-State star player passed on when his VW Cross Polo crashed into a truck after him and four other passengers came from a party in Qwa-Qwa, Free-State. Richard and the other passengers died on impact, his death came 4-months after he buried his younger brother, Joseph. Richard was 32-years-old when he passed on.
Lesley "Slow Poison" Manyathela
Lesley was only 21-years-old when he passed on in August 2003, a month before his 22nd birthday. Lesley left a son (Neo Manyathela) who in 2013, was reported to be following in his late father's footsteps as he had joined Mamelodi Sundown's Youth Academy. Neo was only two-years-old when his father passed on.
The most recent of passing is by Maritzburg United soccer player - Mondli Dlamini. The 20-year-old soccer star passed away in October after the car he was in suddenly lost control.
The driver of the car was reported to have been Royal Eagles midfielder Happy Takalani Mashau.
