The celebrity choreographer and Idols Judge was super excited about his newly appointed job and absolutely could not wait to tell the rest of the world about it.
But unfortunately, his exciting announcement came on a day when South Africa would mourn one of it's most lovable TV presenters.
Somizi's book Dominoes is a story about his life, his highs and lows and those moments that changed his life forever. As we read the book we came across a few things that made us go, 'wow, ok'. One of those moments was when he revealed that his first homosexual encounter was with a famous local singer."Another moment was when he had found out that he was selected as one of the official judges for Idols SA.
''I was so happy about the offer, but had to keep it a secret until it was formally announced in January'' said Somizi in reference to his Idols Judge position.
The first person he told was Bonang, his former bestie. ''She was very excited for me.''
Somizi was very excited to tell the rest of Mzansi about his new job.
''The official announcement was made on 31 January. The announcement was slightly overshadowed by the death of Top Billing presenter, Simba Mhere, as it happened on the same day.''
Simba's funeral was attended by big names in the industry who truly cared about the great guy. Loyiso Bala, Pearl Thusi and Jonathan Boynton-Lee were among those in attendance. The case is yet to be resolved, the man who was responsible for the car accident that killed Simba and his friend Kady-Shay O'Bryan is facing culpable homicide charges.
The man, who goes by the name of Preshalin Naidoo, appeared at the Randburg Magistrate court back in February. His legal defense team had issued an application to have him acquitted of all charges. But the court has denied his application to have him acquitted. The case is still pending.Main Image Credit: Instagram/@Somizi
