Somizi “SomGaga” Mhlongo has a special message regarding the weave debate.

The Idols SA judge says he has been concerned about black girls wearing weaves, and has often asked why they prefer to rock fake hair.

“I have been concerned about black girls wearing weaves, and I am thinking why are you wearing weaves …viva Hugh Masekela,” he said while dishing out his words of wisdom on Instagram.

Bra Hugh made headlines in 2015 after he publicly stated that he would not take photos with women who wear fake hair

But after giving it some thought, Somizi has changed his tune.

“Black girl, wear your weave. Other nations are doing other things that you black girls have, like they do operations for their bums, and you don’t need to because you have… wear your weave with pride. Everybody wants somebody’s something,” he added.

Somizi ended his video message off with: “Viva United Nations of Africa and the world!”

He also captioned his video, “go for it black girl”.
