Up-and-coming actress Nomzamo Mbatha is fast becoming a very popular name within the local entertainment scene, a career path she believes has always been her destiny.
As one of the top five in the MTV VJ search, Mbatha caught the attention of producers, who suggested she audition for a role in Mzansi Magic’s telenovela ‘Isibaya’.
She continued to impress with her portrayal of educated rural girl Thandeka Zunga in the show, so much so that she received both the Drum Darlings Rising Star Award and Hot Chick of the Year Feather Awards in 2013.
“I grew up with my uncles and my gran was the head of the house, so I'm pretty much a granny's girl," she told Sunday World.
“I admire Beyoncé so much because of her work ethic. I'm convinced that she doesn't sleep and I want to work just as hard.”
The future is an open book for Mbatha, though, as ‘Isibaya’ recently wrapped, but she’s not concerned.
“Whatever is next, God has wrapped it up and it's patiently waiting for me,” she said
