Thando Thabethe's SAFTA's looks ranked

Thando Thabooty took to the stage to co-host this past weekend's 11th annual South African Film and Television Awards alongside Katlego Maboe and while she did a great job as host, we were more focused on what she wore on the evening.

Styled by The Threaded Man, Siya Beyile (who was appointed styling director of the entire awards ceremony), Thabethe had a total of seven outfit changes.

We ranked her looks from least to most favourite, starting with the sleeveless plum number she kicked off the live show with.

7.

We meant it when we said we were not moved by this burgundy number. It was just a dress...

At number six we have the strapless silver and white gown she followed up the first look with. Don't get us wrong, she still looked great, she just had better looks later that evening.

Me, after letting @katlegomaboe know that the show is gonna be lit 🔥🔥🔥 #SAFTAs11

At number five we have the grey beaded gown with the high neck. While the dress looked great, we feel as though she could have paired it with a different type of up-do. That hair style felt too severe for the look.

4.

The red ball gown looked exquisite. Not only did the colour go beautifully with her skin tone, but the hair went perfectly with the look. Thando looked like her own kind of Disney princess in the red gown.

Unlike the grey number, the black House of Uys ball gown went perfectly with the high bun and dark lip colour. Thando gave us total Black Swan vibes with this look and we LOVED it.

Thank you for this beautiful creation @house_of_uys 💍💎💎: @jennaclifford_sa #SAFTAs11 captured by @aust_malema

Another look we loved is the Zarth Designs creation she wore on the red carpet ahead of the live show.

1.

We're glad she saved the number one look for last as she look exquisite in this Zarth Designs number. She served equal parts of sexy and fashion and it was a great way to end the night.

Our local stars have been very slow on the uptake when it comes to hiring stylists (for a number of reasons), but we're hoping that this signals the beginning of a new era when it comes to red carpets for major events in South Africa.
