South African award winning actress, Thembsie Matu is mourning the loss of her husband of 36 years, Peter Sebotsa. The Anglican lay minister met Thembsie after an apparent drowning episode, which took place at their home in the East Rand.
According to Sowetan, Thembsie revealed that, on the day of her husband's passing, she was lying in bed hence she was feeling under the weather, however upon waking up to check on Peter, the Rhythm City actress had the shock of her life when after realising that her husband had drowned in the swimming pool.
Upon contact with the publication, Thembsie said the following:
"I got a fright of my life. Then I saw his body lying face down on the floor of the pool. It was an excruciatingly painful experience to see your husband lying dead in his own pool."
The gruesome incident reportedly took place last week Thursday and the family is understandably trying to come to terms with the sudden death of the patriarch of the family. It is believed that Peter will be buried tomorrow at the East Rand.

Almost a week ago, another local celebrity, Kayise Ngqula was also dealt with a low blow after the passing of her husband, Farai Sibanda, who died in a tragic car accident. The two lovebirds were both involved in the accident on Sunday, June 16, however Farai eventually succumbed to the injuries sustained during the accident.
Kayise's mother spoke to Sowetan regarding the funeral arrangements:
''The family is still in discussion. He is of Zimbabwean origin, so the family has been informed and some of them are already here. They arrived as soon as they were informed of the accident."
