Thuso Mbedu is without a doubt one of the most talented actresses in South Africa. The 25-year-old is having an incredible 2017 and there is no one more deserving. We first met the beauty when she bagged a role on Saints & Sinners and she has since managed to captivate an interested audience with her remarkable talent.
The thespian recently scored her first International Emmy nomination for her role as Winnie on Mzansi Magic's hit show, Isthunzi, this is a pretty big deal considering the fact that she is the only African nominated and also, one of a handful of African actresses who have ever been nominated for an Emmy.
Speaking to Drum about her nomination she said, "I have gone through a range of emotions since I found out about the nomination. At first it was disbelief, then shock and it all felt surreal, what I feel right now though is complete gratitude. For the nomination and everything that led to this moment and the people who have helped me get here in my journey,"
