Thuso Mbedu is without a doubt one of the most talented actresses in South Africa. The 25-year-old has an incredible acting reel and she still has a lot to offer. We first met the beauty when she bagged a role on Saints & Sinners and she has since managed to captivate an interested audience with her remarkable talent.
The star was the only African nominated at the 2017 International Emmy Awards and she is opening up about how that moment was short lived, speaking to Sowetan she said, "After the Emmys things turned. The glitz and glamour of the Emmys disappeared and one was left dispensable. The truth is we are very dispensable. The moment you have something to offer‚ you are used but then you become dispensable again. People think that getting the next job is really easy‚ but it is tricky."
She then went on to say that she decided to open a production company with her friends because of the lack of opportunities in the industry, "we are a number of creatives with different skills in the industry; editors‚ writers‚ camera people; who have all gone through periods where we have not been working. We teamed up together so that we don't have to source talent when we shoot projects." she said.
