No, this isn't a part of Tol Ass Mo's MTV prank show. This is unfortunately no joke. After fifteen years on the mic, comedian Tol Ass Mo has decided to tap out on his stand-up comedy career.
The comedian announced to fans last night on his show at the Sun Arena in Pretoria, that this will be his last round at telling jokes. The announcement came after he posted a message on Instagram, hinting at his presumable frustrations at the industry.
In a statement Tol Ass Mo thanked his wife Mome, his friends in the industry and his fans for always being there for him. "It's been a good 15 years of stand-up with an Emmy nomination for best international comedy. Now it's time for me to move on to other things in life. This is not a media opportunity I don't want to explain myself. My comedy production company is available to book other comedians for your events managed by Mome", he explained to TimesLive.
It also looked like the news was a shock not only to his fans but to his fellow comic friends. Trevor Gumbi, Celeste Ntuli, Ayanda MVP, Matli Mohapeloa and TT Mbha, were some of the few of his friends who reached out and wished Mo a successful future in whatever he chooses to do next.
Mo hasn't spilled the tea on what lies ahead for him or what projects he has lined up but we can't wait to see it and support it.
