Although there are a number of people who do not find the Amapiano genre appealing, there are those who have expressed their devotion towards Amapiano. Especially when it comes to people from Pretoria, where the genre originated from.
Amapiano has had a notable effect on urban culture, and that is why Trace has just announced that the channel is trying to help elevate and embrace this new sound and the culture by giving Amapiano producers the opportunity to win a fully paid-for music video of their best track.
Trace South Africa's Managing Director - Valentine Gaudin - Muteba explained that such an initiative would help unearth the next Amapiano superstar producer.
Popular House DJ's such as the likes of Prince Kaybee and Jullian Gomes have given their stamp of approval of this new sound.
Jullian has even defended Amapiano when German DJ - Lars Behrenroth ridiculed the sound when he mentioned that Amapiano was nothing but a snooze-fest for him.
Anyway, to submit your Amapiano track visit www.trace.tv, submissions close on Sunday, 31 March 2019.
