Oh Vusi...

Vusi Thembekwayo found himself trending on Twitter this past Thursday afternoon. Unfortunately, he wasn't trending for anything positive...

It can't be easy being Vusi right now. When he tries to engage in discussions and articulate himself amongst his fellow South Africans on Twitter, he usually ends up as the butt of the joke; rather than the driver of the conversation. This happened again on Thursday when he tried to share his thoughts on how companies can improve the job interview process.

Vusi went on record and said:

"Leadership Tip: Don’t interview people. Interview the people & companies they used to work with and for. People will present the picture of themselves. The picture they want you to believe. Rather talk to people that have actually experienced that person."

Vusi continued with a thread about everything that he had learned through the unique way his business approaches the job interview process. According to him, they use a mixture of written and practical assignments and are even allowed to use friends and non-colleagues as references. They try their very best to get a full judge of character.

His intentions with this conversation topic were positive, but unfortunately they weren't interpreted well by those who follow the entrepreneur and motivational speaker:

To his credit, Vusi hasn't backed down to the criticism and is continuing to defend his topic. Right now, however, fans are patiently waiting for Sizwe Dhlomo to enter the fray:

What do you think of the idea that Vusi was trying to share?
