Oh man, the music industry is a tricky place. I mean if people aren't being accused of 'borrowing elements' from songs, they get accused of watering down originals.
Any DJ that plays Prince Kaybee’s version of Club Controller is a shit dj in my eyes and needs to up their game. That Prince Kaybee version is pure dog shit. I can’t stress this enough.— Nibuye nis’dakelwe nina kule app (@_Bonga) March 6, 2018
So, apparently, Prince Kaybee's Club Controller isn't THE original 'Club Controller'. How? Asazi. Not just that, but apparently the original is way better (according to said Twitter person). You know we love us some good music so we decided to follow a trail and see if we could find this 'original' that's being raved about and hear how dope (and different?) it is from the one we all know. Let's take a look.
Here's the one we know. Okay, you've probably already heard it 3 000 000 times but hey, we have to get to the bottom of this.
Now, this is the said original. It took us roughly 3 minutes to find it (thank you YouTube suggestions).
Our verdict? Apart from the long intro on the 'original' and lack of vocals, there isn't that much of a switch. BUT we have to admit, the original KNOCKS harder. Like way harder. We also understand Prince Kaybee's addition of vocals and his name to the title. Had he not done that, it wouldn't have gotten to the masses. We like it when people do this. Just not when they're stealing.
