There are two types of scars; a) there's the emotional scars which is usually "preferred" by most people because others can not see them. b) these ones are generally hard to hide because they can be easily noticed by others on the body.
It seems the latter, will serve as a life long reality for South Africa's award winning musician, Busisiwe Twala aka Cici. A few years ago, her romantic break up with one of Mzansi's Kwaito legends, Arthur Mafokate was widely publicized, with strong cases of physical assault being leveled against him.
During that heavy period, Cici's photos of her fresh bruises were posted across various social media platforms. Fast forward to the year 2019, Cici posted a short video of her seemingly permanent scars, which are located on the left part of her stomach area.
''For the longest time I’ve struggled with forgiveness because I had to wake up to these every morning and they served as constant reminder.I remember going on holiday and trying on a bikini . I took one look at myself in the mirror and just balled my eyes. I was filled with so much anger and hatred. Today I look at my scars and say I’m grateful for life and the courage and strength that God gave me to face each day with love in my heart.''
Well, the days of sorrow and abuse could be a thing of the past, as the Qiniso hitmaker has been blessed with another shot at love. Recently, Cici posted a picture and video on her Insta - which clearly showed that the Kwa Zulu Natal born star is somebody's wife now.
There's no denying that since the separation from Arthur, life has been mostly on the positive side. Also, after signing to the notorious, Ambitiouz Entertainment, her music career has been on an incredible high.
