A few years ago, the then minister of sports and recreation, Fikile Mbalula had ambitions of securing a booking for the much loved Grammy award winning musician, Beyonce Knowles - Carter for the sports awards.
However his plans took a dive, after many feared that bringing in Beyonce would overshadow the purpose of the event. Also it was reported that the Single Ladies hit-maker charges a whopping R17 - million per hour.
Therefore the aforementioned factors contributed in the cancellation of Beyonce's booking for the sports awards. Some members of the public urged the minister to book local talent instead.
The year 2018 saw many of South Africans embracing Beyonce and her equally talented and influential husband Jayz.
Their purpose of gracing our shores was to perform at the South African installment of the philanthropic music festival, The Global Citizen, which honoured the late Nelson Mandela, who would have turned a hundred years old.
Fast forward to September 2019, should we expect another visit from the Carters?
Well if Mampintsha has anything to do with it, then we might be.
The award winning Kwaito star recently posted a video on Instagram, whereby he was having some-kind of a monologue regarding which artists to book at his Homecoming event.
Mampintsha repeatedly stated that he might consider booking Beyonce and Jayz.
Check out the comments from his followers:
DjTira: ''Awuthi ngenze invoice yami ithi xaxa before Jay Z finishes the money.''
