I recall a few years ago when a high ranking fashion industry personality we will not be naming became the talk of the fashion community for pitching up at an event in Russia, as a representative of South African fashion, dressed in Valentino, I think it was.
The issue many had with this, is that she went to a foreign country, representing our fashion industry, but decided no local designer was good enough to dress her for the event. Weird much? It’s therefore inspiring seeing that Nomzamo Mbatha is forging ahead with her winning streak of being a capable representative of all things South African, as she did at the BET Awards, when she wore her Zulu love letter, and now wearing Rich Mnisi in London, where she was at the weekend.
The vertical stripe wrap dress is incredibly flattering on her, and the pairing of silver heels looks impeccable, never mind the light make-up and quirky hair styling. She’s casual, but nonetheless as glamourous as we’ve come to expect of the beautiful style maven that she has consistently proven to be.
