It's the first week of January and as the saying goes, 'There's never a dull day in the entertainment industry'. Let's re-cap on what went down in these local entertainment streets.
Tbo Touch started off the week right for all of us by showing what parenthood is all about.
The radio personality and businessman was in New York with his eldest son, Ruri, not only for a father and son festive holiday but to also attend an orientation at one of the most prestigious performance arts schools in the world! not America but in the world.
The school is known as the Julliard school of performance and is reported to have a tuition fee of $38,190 which close to half a million rand!
Welp! Tbo Touch just took the award for Father of the year, and we're only in January.
Then we got hit with news that Gospel singer, Lundi Tyamara is gravely ill and recovering in hospital after suffering from stomach tuberculosis and liver complications. The public became even more concerned when this particular image of Lundi began making its rounds on social media.
We wish Lundi a speedy recovery.
Someone who is really playing the serious game this year is Zahara who is reportedly suing True Magazine for R3 million rand after the publication's cover headline, insinuated that Zahara is using drugs.
At least in the interview, she spoke fondly about her relationship with her fiance' Amaza.
I honestly hope this is a sick joke from @truelovemagazine, how dare they put this type of headline on their cover! Why associate me with drugs?? This is an utterly tasteless and misleading caption! Perhaps it's an effort to boost sales!! Ndidikiwe kengoku, if they dont recall this cover today, I will be left with no choice but to take legal action against them! I have been trying to call their offices but no one is answering! Fed up of my name always being used to sell magazines and newspapers!
Then there was the official parole release of Jub Jub and his co-accused, Themba Shabalala, the release of Themba and Jub Jub had some mixed reactions from the public. But some people had a change of heart when they heard Jub Jub's song, asking for forgiveness.
In other good news, Black Coffee has ensured that he will usher in 2017 in more great ways than one.
On Sunday, 8 January, the internationally renowned DJ and his wife Enhle will finally celebrate their marriage by having their white wedding in Sun City, the couple already celebrated their traditional wedding a couple of years ago.
Black Coffee and his wife celebrated the official signing of their wedding in style. Loved Enhle's suit.
To add to the celebrations, we also found out that J.LO and Drake did their own re-make of Black Coffee's Superman song. What a great way to start the year for Black Coffee.
And on Friday, E! Africa confirmed that Terry Pheto would be the judge for the channel's presenter search competition whilst Andile Ncube, is the presenter of the show.
After posting the story, we saw that many of you were not impressed with the contestants as they already are within the entertainment industry. So much so for opening up the industry right?
But, in E! Africa's defence, maybe the channel is looking for already mildly seasoned presenters to become ambassadors of the show? Maybe.....
As we look forward to the new week of entertainment, keep your eyes and ears on ZAlebs as we bring you the latest in our local entertainment industry.
