I know I’m not the only one who just assumed that Bonang Matheba is as close to perfection as they come – by the look of things, Queen B easily gets any and everything that she wants. But apparently this is not the case. Believe it or not, even Bonang had to fail a few times before reaching success.
Speaking to youngsters at the 20/20 leadership conference hosted by DJ Sbu, Bonang let everyone know that her life is not as easy as people perceive it to be.
Bonang is most popularly known for her gig as a presenter on Live, but she admits, “I auditioned nine times just to be a presenter”.
In total, Queen B, went through 19 auditions in her entire career (props to you!). Even getting the Top Billing gig was not as easy as we all assumed. Bonang says, “It took five trials and rejections to make it”.
How’s that for a lesson in perseverance?
