They may have reunited as best friends, but word on the street is that there is a bitter rivalry going on between Somizi and Bonang Matheba
This after Somgaga launched his latest venture - a bottle of bubbly this weekend.
What's more is that he's been accused of shading his strongest competitor (Bonang of course) with several jabs in the process!
Somizi - like Queen B - has ventured into the world of celebrity alcoholic beverages. The Idols SA presenter launched his collaboration with French champagne connoisseurs G.H. Mumm on Sunday 1 December in a fancy brunch in Sandton. But it seems Somizi was not satisfied in simply competing with his BFF in the market, he had to make it known he's here to one-up her.
Whilst Bonang's drink is a sparkling wine (a Méthode Cap Classique to be precise) Somizi has made it clear his bubbly is the real-deal champers!
Announcing the news on social media, Somizi wrote, "Ladies and gentlemen boys and girls I present to u.....the one and only edition.... LTD EDITION... GHMUMMxSOMIZI....THE ONLY ONE IN AFRICA.....TO GOD BE THE GLORY.."
But it was his next line that really hit the nerve of his intentions.
He concluded, "Laughs in France, not Franschhoek."
For those who don't know, Bonang's bubbly is made using grapes from the Western Cape, whilst Somizi's is made using French ones!
Bonang was also in the Cape this weekend for the 2019 Franschhoek Cap Classique & Champagne Festival.
And of course, Bonang made the line "Laughs in Binglish" super popular too!
If Somizi's post wasn't a stab in the back, then clearly he is tone-deaf!
Fans also picked up on the shady post and commented on Twitter:
Many tweeps also saw it fit to accuse Som-Som of 'copying' everything B does!
Is this another case of Cruz (AKA) vs Ciroc (Cassper) ?
