Blxckie has teased a near-arrival sophomore album while discussing his creative growth, pre-show habits and the expanding influence of South African music at Scorpion Kings Live.
Five years after releasing his debut project, B4Now, the hip-hop star remains a major force in Mzansi. The gold-certified album delivered popular tracks including Big Time Sh’lappa, as well as notable collaborations with Nasty C and LucasRaps.
Blxckie has now submitted his follow-up full-length project and says supporters will not have to wait much longer, promising that it is coming “very soon.”

A social-media post from somnyama. (@blxckie_) accompanied the album update.
Looking back on his path so far, Blxckie says the new record will put his artistic transformation at its heart. He wants listeners to notice changes in his delivery and the wider range of styles he has explored.
He also points to increased confidence in his melodic approach. In his view, the album keeps his voice at the centre while allowing fans to hear how much his musicianship has developed.
His comments followed a high-energy set at the second Scorpion Kings Live, an event described as one of the biggest and most successful displays in South African music history.

Blxckie believes Amapiano’s success at home and abroad has benefited the country’s entire music community. The genre, he says, has helped South African sounds reach new markets, creating a ripple effect that is lifting other local artists as well.
A second post from somnyama. (@blxckie_) appeared alongside the discussion.
For him, Scorpion Kings Live represents more than a major concert. Its scale demonstrates that South African creators can move beyond familiar boundaries when the music connects and audiences are prepared to embrace an ambitious production.
He says the event also highlights the importance of practical support. With the necessary production resources and budget in place, the show becomes a strong model for the wider South African music industry and its artists.
Despite performing before a crowd at such a vast production, Blxckie does not depend on an elaborate backstage routine or extended solitude. He keeps his preparation straightforward, taking a quick “shot or two” before focusing on the people in front of him.
His method onstage is to read the room and match its mood. By watching the crowd and responding to its excitement, he raises his own energy to the same level.
With the next chapter of his career approaching, fans are set to hear the full extent of Blxckie’s evolution on his forthcoming album.
