There are only a few hours left until Caster Semenya takes on her 800m run at the 2016 Olympic games held in Rio, Brazil. Many South Africans are confident that Caster will walk away with a gold medal.

Since the wake of dawn South Africans have scheduled their entire day around Caster Semenya’s race which is set to take place at 15:55pm (CAT).

Patriotism has been the order of the day with people retweeting a number of Caster Semenya images on their social media accounts. A particular favorite, is the one of Caster kneeling with the caption: Caster is Mokgadi.

The support behind the olympian has left little to no room for any criticism directed towards her as South Africans continue to defend the runner from the barrage of criticism she has received from international media.

The support towards Caster has been such a beautiful moment to witness, especially considering how unfazed she's become from all the negative attention that has been directed towards her by international media

Caster has acknowledged the love and backing she's received from her fellow South Africans, thanking each and everyone one of her supporters in numerous social media posts on her Facebook account.

We have no doubt that in a few hours time the cartoon illustration below will come to fruition when Caster wins that gold medal.
