Montloana Warren Masemola was born on 18 May 1983 in Pretoria, South Africa. He moved to Soshanguve with his parents and siblings. In 2021, Warren Masemola lost her mother who battled a brain tumour for years. Not much is out there about his siblings but he’s referenced his sister who helped her understand alopecia. Warren Masemola was only six years old when he got the condition and says other kids made fun of him. He doesn’t describe it as a disease as alopecia doesn’t change the state of your overall health.  

Schooling

Warren Masemola attended Tshwane Christian School and then proceeded to dance school in Johannesburg. Warren also studied drama at The Market Theatre Laboratory.  

Career

Warren Masemola’s interest in drama began when he was young. His sister helped him realise his talent for the arts. He began as a dancer and later honed his craft at Market Theatre Lab. Warren Masemola has since featured in numerous movies and TV Shows. His big break arrived when he was cast in "Scandal" in 2008 where he played the role of an art director named Lentswe Mokethi.

After his success on Scandal, he took a leading role on "Ses’Top La" in which he was cast as a gay character, Thokozani “Thoko” Chanel. His role won him the SAFTA Golden Horn Awards for the Best Supporting Actor in a television comedy. 

Warren Masemola has also been cast in Intersexions as Tizozo, Beyonce’s "Black is King" and "The River".   

Other films include Heist, The Republic, Ayeye, Saints & Sinners, Tjovitjo, 90 Plein Streets and Single Galz & Single Guys.
