What would a 'Women of the Year' list be without Connie Ferguson?
You can't talk about staying power without mentioning Connie's name. If you think back to when Generations was still the only TV show that mattered, you will remember Karabo Moroka, a character made popular by Connie. Even after not being on the show for a while, people still refer to her by that TV name.
Since leaving the iconic SABC 1 soapie, Connie has made a name for herself as not just a actress, but also a TV producer. She does a lot of great work through Ferguson Films, a production company she owns with her husband Shona. Some of the shows they're responsible for include Mzansi Magic's The Queen, Rockville and Igazi.
It's not surprise that she named as one of this year's Glamour Women of The Year
She wrote on Instagram: "So grateful and humbled!" Other women who were recoginsed at the event on Saturday include social media influencer Kefilwe Mabote and Doreen Morris, who was the first black women on mainstream TV.
