British TV personality Jeremy Clarkson, 66, has revealed that he is battling a serious illness: he says he was diagnosed with cancer and described the disease as aggressive, though he believes it was caught very early. The update comes as new episodes of his Prime Video series “Clarkson’s Farm” are now available.
Clarkson announces cancer in “Clarkson’s Farm”
In the latest installments, which have just dropped on Prime Video, Clarkson made the disclosure unexpectedly during a conversation with his co-stars Charlie Ireland and Kaleb Cooper. In the moment, he told them plainly: “I have cancer.” He also said the condition is “aggressive,” adding that doctors found it at a “very early stage.”
What he said about treatment and the operation
Clarkson also spoke on the show about an upcoming procedure, explaining that while it would be “over in a flash,” his body would be “out of action for a while.” In the hospital-bed scenes that follow, he suggested that part of his treatment “didn’t go quite right.”
He then described the emotional uncertainty of the situation, saying what he wanted to communicate was essentially this: if everything works out, he’ll see viewers again for season six—if not, then he won’t. The episode ends with his farewell to the audience: “Take care, all of you.”
In the days after filming wrapped for season five, the presenter reportedly returned to the camera again, even after the new health news.
He had hinted earlier that the latest episodes wouldn’t be easy
Before he went public with the cancer diagnosis, Clarkson had already signaled on Instagram that the final run of episodes in the current season of “Clarkson’s Farm” would feel different. He wrote that, normally, the show aims for an idyllic, charming, upbeat tone, but that the last two episodes were not like that. He added: “It’s hard to watch them.”
Fans rally with messages of support
After the cancer reveal, supporters flooded the comments with encouragement. One fan wrote, “Please never stop showing us the farm. We love it.” Another added, “But we love you for showing us the good, the bad, and the ugly sides of everything.”
