Today, many know AKA has the ‘Supa Mega’ or the hitmaker for certified tracks like ‘All Eyes On Me’ ft Burna Boy or ‘Fela In Versace’. The rapper hails from Mitchell’s Plain and started dropping bars in school. Kiernan Jordan Forbes more commonly known as AKA, love for music is undeniable and so is his love for the soft life ranging from mansions to the most luxurious cars. In an interview with Nkululeko and Culture, former Entity rap group member Sizwe Mpofu-Walsh shares how AKA has changed over the years because of fame. Entity group consisted of three members which included AKA, Walsh (vice versa) and Greyhound.
The three friends met during school and birthed Entity in 2004. The following year, the group released their first and only album titled 'Royal School Of Hip Hop. The lead single was 'Touch and Go'. In 2006, the group disbanded, and each member pursued different paths. AKA launched his solo career, but it was only in 2011 that he had his breakthrough with popular single 'Victory Lap’ from his début EP titled ‘Alter Ego’. Since then, he has released a string of singles and albums. AKA upcoming album is titled 'Mass Country'

Walsh expressed how saddened he is by AKA’s change from when they were young as childhood friends, closeness of the group to how different things are today. In the interview he mentioned ‘fame does something to people, the more famous he became, the more detached he became from that original group of friends’. People do change, but Walsh also added he developed a better understanding and has some sympathy towards the situation and AKA.
While Walsh dishes out on how much AKA has changed, the rapper is on his own reflective journey. AKA has recently opened up about how he made his first million and his gratitude towards Nasty C who he collaborated with on his latest track 'Lemons [Lemonande]'.

The new single was well received, and the music video surpassed 1 million views shortly after its release this month. The rapper took to twitter today to announce that 'Lemons' has just gone gold in an unofficial statement. He could not contain the excitement.
Perhaps he did change? One thing is certain, AKA's music career continues to thrive. From Entity to pursuing a solo career and cementing his influence in the industry.
