News anchor and Power FM host, Aldrin Sampear has opened up about his sexuality for the first time to the public. The radio host recently sat down on Power Talk, with the founder and chief executive of marketing and brand consultancy DNA Brand Architects, Sylvester Chauke.
The entrepreneur got candid with Aldrin, about his business, marriage and sexuality. When they tackled the hot topic of homosexuality, Aldrin shared for the first time to the public that he is gay. He went to detail how he came out of the closet to his father.
He said, he drove down to his home with his partner to introduce him to his father. Aldrin said they have been together for 6 years and his dad only knew that he was his best friend.
The interesting part was that, when he let the cat out of the bag, his father accepted him and said he is happy for him. Taking to Twitter, Aldrin shared a moving tweet about his dad on accepting his sexuality.
In a sweet caption, he said " It's been a tough journey. But yes like Tracey Ellis Ross said in that interview with Oprah "this is me...All we wish for is acceptance & this man gave me that. He said "sibonga imphilo". I love my dad guys. I wish for everyone who struggles with sexuality to have that."
