Arthur Mafokate has been the site for many memes and jabs this past weekend. This comes after the Kwaito legend was alleged to have been implicated in the National Lotteries Commission’s corruption scandal of over R56.3 million through his non-profit SAADA.
While he initially denied the allegation. Mafokate then decided to sway the public’s perception to his side by creating a podcast titled Setting The Record Straight and being the first guest on his podcast. However, this did not end well after the interview clip of him speaking on the matter went viral. As reported at the time:
Following a week, Arthur attempted to do damage control recently when he conducted an interview for an unknown podcast, which is on his channel, aimed at addressing the matter and setting the record straight.
However, when Arthur was asked to address the matter, the musician seemed to be in his “acting” pocket as there was over a minute or more of him attempting to cry. This was all happening while the presenter in question attempts to suggest that it was the media behind the report and not it being an official investigation by the SIU.
Safe to say when the clip landed on social media, it was not the general public dragging Arthur and his alleged fake tears for filth. But instead, it was a number of ZAlebs who took to the timeline to drag Mafokate for what is believed to be his fake acting.
From Robert Marawa to Penny Lebyane, everybody seemed to have something to say. Most of which was to suggest that just like the public, no one actually believes that Mafokate was targeted by the media. But instead, what is happening is the law finally catching up with him.
Arthur Mafokate invited to Podcast and Chill
With the Monday episode of Podcast and Chill with Sol Phenduka. Ghost Lady and MacG reflecting on Arthur’s viral moment, they too seemed to believe that it was all an act. Moreover, they suggested that he should come and visit the podcast and maybe his “performance” will be more believable.
This comes after the podcast was able to breathe new life into what was the declining career of 2010s hitmaker Dr Malinga. This is as when Malinga was facing financial issues due to SARS repossessing his possessions, Malinga came on to the podcast and cried telling the emotional story of his decline.
Thereafter, Malinga had a second chance at reviving his career as he was booked and busy. However, that did not seem to last in terms of his good PR. This is as one of the first people to reach out following the interview was Makhadzi asking that he join her then upcoming one-woman show.
But things seem to have taken a left turn as Dr Malinga has since spoken out suggestively about his treatment during the one-woman show. As reported:
Musician Dr Malinga has left no stones unturned as he calls out Makhadzi for ill treating him. This comes after he was invited to perform at Makhadzi's One Woman Show in Limpopo last year.

Musician Makhadzi is under fire following the damning accusations leveled against her by Dr Malinga. After Dr Malinga was at loggerheads with the South African Revenue Services (SARS). Makhadzi came guns blazing to rescue him by inviting him to perform at her One Woman Show in October, last year.
When scores of people were singing Makhadzi's praises for looking after fellow musicians, Dr Malinga now shares different sentiments about her. Taking to Facebook, Dr Malinga has called out Makhadzi for dealing him a bad card.
"Makhadzi stop using people for your own benefit, God is watching you damnit" wrote Dr Malinga.
