All eyes have been on SABC3's latest talk show, Afternoon Express.
The show, which premiered on 4 May, has left a lot of people talking. Besides being compared to breakfast show, Expresso, the afternoon talk show has apparently not been doing so well in terms of viewership.
According to the latest TAMS figures (week 11-17 May), Afternoon Express does not feature on the top five most-watched talk shows in South Africa chart.
Here are the stats:
1. Rise (SABC1) 2,271,00
2. Motswako (SABC2) 593,000
3. Katch it with Khanyi (e.tv) 527,000
4. The Talk (SABC1) 520,000
5. Steve Harvey (e.tv) 461,000
The show, which replaced 3 Talk with Noeleen Maholwana-Sangqu, does not even feature on the top ten most-watched shows on the channel list. The least watched show, according to the figures, was Common Law with 395,000 viewers.
This means that Afternoon Express has failed to crack the 400,000 viewers mark. However, this is not the case, according to Bonang, who is one of the hosts.
After some viewers expressed their shock on Twitter, she quickly set the record straight. She said the show had close to 2-million viewers.
