After being found guilty of raping his teenage niece in November 2013. Brickz served only nine months of his 15-year jail sentence.

The Kwaito star had initially appealed for bail of R50,000 in 2017 which was revoked. However, a new price on his freedom was approved and his bail for R80,000 was eventually approved.

Magistrate John Baloyi approved his bail application and released him on R80,000 bail.

According to reports as part of the conditions of his bail approval, Brickz is to surrender all his travel documents and has been prohibited to enter any airports.

In addition to these conditions, Brickz is not allowed to leave Johannesburg without informing investigators and must report to the police station every week (Monday & Wednesday)
