Busiswa’s Lingerie Backlash
Busiswa was first thrust into the limelight when she partnered with DJ Zinhle on her smash hit, My Name Is in 2012 and since then, the singer and poet has gone on to forge a successful career for herself.

Every year, Busiswa has managed to produce hit after hit making her one of South Africa’s most successful musicians.

The star who is also a mom posed half naked for an Ackermans campaign a couple of months ago. The #IAmMe campaign by Ackermans featured Busiswa, Rami Chuene, Kim Jayde, Minki van der Westhuizen and Pearl Modiadie and although the majority of the comments were positive, there were a few negative remarks on the bold campaign.

Taking to Instagram, the star opened up about why she did the campaign and why it was important for her to show off her ‘lovely lady lumps’ to serve as an inspiration to other women. Busiswa then went on to say that she experienced hate and body shaming after doing the campaign. Take a look at the video below:

This is not the first time local celebrities have posed naked for good causes, every year, ZAlebs pose naked for the highly sought-after Marie Claire naked issue and last year’s edition of the campaign required our favourite stars to write a letter to their bodies and flaws.

Actress, Michelle Mosalakae took part in the campaign and this is what she had to say about her body.

“#DearBody
, You’ve been my shield and my protection since I was inside my mother’s womb. Our journey is not smooth, but it’s beautiful. I now look at you in the mirror, even with your lumps and bumps, and think to myself – you are perfect just the way you are…..I’m learning to accept you,” she wrote in part. Take a look at the full letter below:
