Cassper Nyovest is currently a busy man with his fingers in more than just one lucrative pie. However, despite his growth and the manner in which he has diversified in recent years. It is still a fact that he got his big break as a rapper, or rapper might be too strong of a word, so let’s say “Hip-Hop artist.”

This is as there is enough video footage that proves that if there is one thing that Nyovest cannot do on the spot is freestyle.
The latest came through a snippet which showed that besides his inability to come up with bars, even coming up with a hook on the spot is not easy for Nyovest.

Cassper’s recent return to Hip-Hop
Cassper Nyovest prides himself in being one of the most versatile artists in the game currently. While others might consider it flip-flopping, he has made it clear that it is just about knowing the temperament of the time. As such, following his less than impressive 2020 Hip-Hop era when he released Any Minute Now (A,M.N). An album which is said to have only been saved by his collaborations with Zola 7. Cassper asserted that 2022 was his return to Hip-Hop.
He credited himself as the saviour of Hip-Hop through the release of the forgettable Put Your Hands Up. Then when Big Zulu actually revived Hip-Hop and its competitive energy with 150 Bars, Nyovest joined in on the fun with the release of his own diss track 4 Steps Back.
While the song was not touted as the best diss track to come from the Big Zulu activation when compared to Kwesta, K.O and Duncan’s replies. The single and its visuals seemed to perform well on YoutTube as the single managed to surpass a million views. A fact which seemed to confirm to him that he is on the right track and hence the Pardon My Arrogance promotional roll out.
Cassper Nyovest fails at freestyling, again
As 4 Steps Back managed to surpass the one million views mark on YouTube, Nyovest took to the timeline to state that for every song that manages to surpass the one million mark he would celebrate by releasing another single, which is part of his upcoming Hip-Hop album. Hence the release of Pardon My Arrogance.
The song has seemingly flown under the radar, that is for people outside of the Tsibip fan base. But that does not mean that Nyovest did not go on a promotional radio tour for the single, and it seems that that is where the danger was Asanda. This is as it seems that interviews wanted Cassper the rapper to showcase his lyrical prowess, but instead it just seemed to add more to his catalogue of less than impressive freestyles. A fact which perpetuated the allegations of ghost writers being the key to his success.
Whether it was his failure to come up with a hook during his interview with Anele Mdoda on 947 during Anele and the Breakfast Club.
Or the now viral snippet from his subsequent interview on Tbo Touch, Cassper continues to be the but of jokes as his education level or mere comprehension is continually questioned, Especially as what is supposed to be one of the greatest rappers to come out of South Africa.
